The New Women's National
Football League (WNFL):
The New Women’s National Football League (WNFL) is a semi-professional women’s full-contact American football league formed out of a merger between the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the United States Women's Football League (USWFL) & the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL). It is 11-on-11, just like the NFL. The WNFL uses a spring season format, like the modern Arena Football League (AFL).
The new WNFL will consist of more than 100 teams in various levels playing a 10-game regular season schedule & a 4-team single-elimination tournament. The WNFL will also use a "Promotion & Relegation" system similar to the European Soccer Leagues. Each WNFL team will have 45 total players on the roster. The new WNFL will also use all of the same rules as the old WFA except for the rules listed on this website.
