The New Professional American Football Association (PAFA):
The Professional American Football Association (PAFA) is a set (i.e. 2 separate “pyramids”) of professional & semiprofessional football leagues in the United States which plays an 8-man version of American football without pads. Unlike other North American sports leagues, this league will use a “promotion & relegation” system similar to the European soccer leagues for both the Professional & Semi-Professional pyramids. The new PAFA (both MLF & MPFL) will also use all of the same rules as the old NFL except for the rules listed on this website
Combining teams from both the National Football League (NFL), the New XFL, & the various defunct outdoor leagues, Major League Football (MLF) is meant to replace the NFL & will play a 21-week schedule with 18 games & 3 bye weeks. The MLF leagues (played in the fall) will consist of no more than 24 teams at each level of the league pyramid, with 2 conferences of 12 teams each. Following the conclusion of the regular season, 4 teams from each conference (i.e. 8 teams from each level) advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Super Bowl (Level-1) or the MLF Lower-Level Championships.
Combining teams from both the various current indoor & semi-pro leagues, Minor Professional Football League (MPFL) will take place alongside the professional leagues in the fall, & will play a 10-week schedule with 10 games with no bye weeks. All teams may be either 1) fully professional (i.e. all paid players), 2) fully amateur (i.e. all unpaid players), or 3) semi-professional (i.e. a mix of paid & unpaid players).
The MPFL leagues will consist of no more than 110 teams at each level of the league pyramid, with 10 divisions of 11 teams each. Following the conclusion of the regular season, 1 team from each division (i.e. 10 teams from each level) advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the MPFL Level 1/2/3/etc. Championships.
