The New Arena Football League (AFL):
The new Arena Football League (AFL) is a fan proposal to combine the current AFL, the Indoor Football League (IFL), the Champions Indoor Football league (CIF), American Arena League (AAL), the National Arena League (NAL), the International Arena Football League (IAFL), the American West Football Conference (AWFC), & the National Gridiron League (NGL) into one league.
The new AFL will consist of 48 teams playing a 16-game regular season schedule & an 8-team single-elimination tournament. All games will be played in the spring order to avoid competing with the NFL. Each AFL team will have 24 total players on the roster, with all players being required to have some playing time in regular season games. The new AFL will also use all of the same rules as the IFL except for the rules listed on this website.
