The New Major League Rugby(MLR):
The new Major League Rugby (MLR) is a professional men's rugby union league that was founded in 2017, with the first season being played in 2018. In this revised version, the number of teams has been expanded to 18, with the number of games also having increased to 16 with no bye weeks except for the June International Test Window.
Similar to MLS, the league is structured as a single entity, with each club owned by the league and club operators owning a share of the league. The entry fee for each new franchise (including teams from USA Rugby) is approximately $500,000.
